and possibly a little bit jealous. The services fee is a pittance anyway. Not exactly helping out much in buying a 500 million ranch. This has f**k all to do with the club - he is a very wealthy man spending his money how he sees fit

That's embezzlement. You should contact the Serious Fraud Office immediately.

As a majority shareholder he can make money from the sale of his shares but he can't take cash from the clubs funds...I don't think

You do realise the Glaziers take 16m a year from united as a given, dont you?

That's before we factor in the cost of servicing the debt they've loaded onto the club or any of their consultancy fees they charge with each restructuring.

I'm far from the biggest fan of Stan's, but his conduct has been infinitely better than pretty much every other absentee foreign, investment-only club owner, hasnt it?

Commie bore in defending rich-white-guys-with-toupees shocker etc etc

He could arrange directors loans or he could put a motion to pay dividends to the board - which he would probably win.

I think even the staunchest black scarf type would let the wiggy auld ******* have a go on their wife if we won the european cup.

Probably more if he won us a good, honest, English trophy like the BPL.

So he has, in total, took 6m, which is roughly a third of what the glaziers took annually, and without their consultancy work for refinancing the four or five times they've done it.

I'm no fan of these vulture capitalists but he's essentially much better than I had even hoped for when he took over.

Oddly enough, I've got the late, great Dennis Farina's movie debut playing on the on the other screen right now. #legend

The film would be right up your street, I reckon. It's all about workers' revolts and Karl Marx and whatnot. And it's got Tuesday Weld in it.

I genuinely expected a lot worse, and what's more he does plug us rather usefully into the whole US "sports marketing" juggernaut network very well. We need that sort of nous as our commercial department has historically been very weak in comparison to how well we do in other areas.

So yes, here's me being equivocal and evenhanded about things to do with modern day corporate governance, imagine that.

If you ask me whether I would swap him for any other club owner I would have to say no. He's relatively benign and doesnt completely screw us on our operating sustainability like an oligarch would.

I suppose we can be grateful that he hasn't so far fleeced us like the Glazers have but suspect he'd like to. I blame the old so-called 'custodians'. Booo!

Feel free to look back on my history on this, I wanted to give Stan the benefit of the doubt and - much to my surprise - he's turned out to be OK.

I do think we could scale back a little bit on the whole matchday income stuff, and probably should when the new TV deal properly kicks in next season, but apart from that I'd have to give the lad a B.
