The issue seems to be volume so in turn it looks like “most” fail. I would imagine there is less British players in all of Europe than for example Brazilians in 1-2 European leagues combined.

We all naturally look at the high profile ones and make our judgement, Bale for example. A success imo, however at 100m and being ex-Spurs I would say he is also looked on as a failure.

Then there is the money where relatively bang average PL players are rewarded to such a degree that could not be matched in Europe, so why bother.
