View Full Version : I don’t think there was a single misplaced pass that wasn’t greeted with derision by a large portion

of our fans last night and there was also significant booing at the final whistle.

What possible justification is there for this? It wasn’t a game where you could criticise the effort of the players and the only thing missing from what could have been a comfortable victory was better finishing.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that on a night like yesterday, a negative crowd could literally be the difference between winning and drawing.

I know they pay good money and this gives them a right to voice their disappointment, but is it not a truly bizarre situation where people who claim to love their club actually wilfully behave in a way that reduces its chances of success?

I seem to notice this regularly happens when we play hard-pressing sides. Almost like there is some sort of causal effect between a team pressing and the other losing the ball.

But I'll go with Phil. Our c**ts' passing was sloppy.

As some, not all I assume, supporters see (in their opinion) another league challenge fade, the culmination of 3 games without a goal exacerbating this emotion, enhanced then by the realisation that Spurs have climbed above, perhaps only for a fleeting moment, who knows.

All normal human emotions, football for some being an event of enormous almost inconceivable personal emotional investment.

Not for you though.

was also aware that expressing that frustration on a night where the players were clearly working their balls off to win the game against decent opponents, and making more than enough chances to do so, would only be counter-productive.

I can of course understand the occasional moments of frustration being expressed, but there's a sense on nights like yesterday that our fans are almost itching at the chance to get on the players’ backs as it would confirm their suspicions that they are **** and Wenger is a c**t.

Difficult to understand but there you go.

Now, I feel like I owe you an apology of sorts as only a week or perhaps 10 days ago I gave you my assurance that Spurs were not in any way involved in the race for the title. I also said Leicester would not win which is a feeling I still cannot shake off.

Spurs however I feel we must accept have a chance.

simply HAVE to think we have a chance as well. I can’t see any way round that, unless your perspective is so narrow hat you can't see anywhere beyond current form.

So here we are, one of four clubs with a decent chance of winning the league. And yet all I see is negativity.

in order to encourage the team, not whinging like bitches to demotivated them?

Do you really not understand that, or are you pretending?

It's only 5 points and February.

We do however need to recover some of our footballing groove which has gone astray in recent weeks. This weekend with one of City and Leicester dropping points is an ideal opportunity to regain some ground and impetus.

Too many games still to play to rule out anyone in the top 4-5.

Should make it glaringly obvious that supporting the team is more likely to get you what you want than negative reactions.

worrying trend for many.
The other challengers don't appear to be showing this type of inconsistency, which many may think of as title winning credentials.
