For the lego haired decade of disappointment and niggling injuries that if theon though.

He knows stuff about soccerball, see?

Meanwhile, Giroud had ankle knack before kick off, so expecting him to run around like a dervish for 70 minutes probably wasn't ideal.

I think he is rubbish and by now he's not going to get any better. if anything he'll lose pace.

He doesn't do enough with the ball to play out wide.

From what the Weng said after the game, we needed to play on the counter and needed to keep pace on the pitch to get up the pitch fast and with Chelsea already having an extra man in midfield, Giroud was the only option. Last year it may have been Ozil, but you simply don't take the boy off nowadays.

Got to the point when I was almost feeling sorry for them - particularly as it was so obvious Austin would come on and score

the type of opportunities Giroud thrives upon.
He also looked more than pissed off when subbed. If he was carrying a knock, he didn't exactly show it.

Unless you're claiming to be privy to the niggling injuries Giroud had? Didn't think so.

The fans were vindicated imo. Theo continues to unimpress.

It was 0-0 at the time and anyone's game. It wasn't inevitable (as it very nearly proves) that we'd end up relying on a set piece to score.

Wenger made a mistake?
Wenger doesn't know what he's doing?
Substitutions should be decided by a vote amongst the crowd?

Campbell continues to outperform Theo as does Giroud.

Maybe Theo central for consecutive games would enable him to perform better but I'd opt for Giroud more often than not and that sentiment seems to be widely shared.

I hope it gives him confidence in upcoming games knowing he has their support - will only help us win the league.

It was an odd decision to make 20 minutes after deciding Giroud fit enough to play.

We also had another player with as good a workrate and better ability who was always going to come off the bench at at least 60 minutes.

We may have been trying to play more quickly, and directly, when we get the ball but we have a f**k load of experience against Chelsea with 10 men and sticking with 3 little guys up there rarely works, especially when their midfield had been dominating ours prior to the red card.
