View Full Version : So the government is trying to ban poppers? Frown

Putting aside that this led to a rather unpleasant 'what the f**k is the world coming to?' moment when a serving Tory MP revealed that he used them (presumably to facilitate bumsex), what possible justification can there possibly be for this absurd act?

It's not even like they're some new 'menace facing our kids'. It's been around since at least the 80s and there has been to my knowledge no serious evidence of them doing any particular damage. Equally, since amyl nitrite is a widely used industrial solvent, I'd be interested to know how anyone proposes banning it.

So, in short: WILL EVERYONE PLEASE STOP TRYING TO F.UCKING BAN THINGS?

And each one admitted to what drugs they used, in order to facilitate backdoor sehnannigans or otherwise.

We seem to be becoming increasingly more conservative here. If we were being Conservative we might actually realise there are some benefits, not just financial but also societal, in at least looking at the mess that is drugs policy.

to ban things than it is to actually have to sit down and do the hard thinking about how legalisation would actually work. The former is ineffective but easy, whereas the latter is beneficial, but hard. Hence successive governments of every colour preferring the former.

Now here's a wonderful curiosity which points out one of the differences between men and women.

It was said of President Kennedy that when he was in mid fornicate, so to speak, one of his Secret Servicemen would plunge the head of Kennedy's partner underwater. A rather lovely nurse of my acquaintance told me that when this happened the vaginal muscles along with others would tighten thus providing a rather deliciously tight screw, which would increase the sensations on the Presidential *****.

I believe those who practice breath control as a fetish do so for the self- same reason.

And as a devotee of pegging I must admit I prefer tightness rather than slackness as it were - if only for the sense of empowerment.

We've now got three, possibly even four, generations who have used recreational drugs. We're neither soddom no gamorrah (though poppers boy might counter one of those arguments) so it's really time to start being sensible about things like this.

Parliament really is just a pile of ineffectual middle management tossers. We need to tackle the big questions in society, not fiddle round the edges endlessly reclassifying things to look tough and then having to shorten sentences when people realise the prisons are so full we cant lock people doing actual harm away.

We live in a somewhat illiberal society.

Though poppers can blister your nose, ISTR, as the bottle gets emptier and the nose gets closer to the rim of the bottle. I had no idea they were used for bumsex, just general raunchiness.

mess we were then.

I think that people who take drugs get a rather false impression of just how many people there are out there who take drugs. There are millions of people like pokster who genuinely think they're an evil that can and should be stopped.

Also, I sometimes worry that the younger generation are disturbingly straight-laced. :-(

'taking drugs', j.

Spending a weekend in the company of 5 grams of Bolivia's finest, a quantity of liquid MDMA, the lady or ladies of your choice and quite a lot of vodka and Red Bull is what I mean by taking drugs.

but you could equally put that down to a reaction to obnoxious man is unpopular rather than attack on our freedoms.

And, yes nice article on the whole banning business still not convinced a bunch of up-their-arses students represents society as whole, particularly as even if they do go into proper politics they don't necessarily hold the same loony political views as, a say, 30-year than they do as a student, unless they are Jeremy Corbyn
