Assuming you're on Upper St, I'd recommend walking towards Angel and heading down Camden Passage. Some nicer places down there.

Though he's right about Nero's. For the authentic fry-up experience go to somewhere like the Workers Cafe on Upper Street or the Hope Cafe on Holloway Road.
