View Full Version : If we win the next 2 games. Should 'same again' should be enough for the title?

that would put us on 84 points

Easier said than done.

However we are consistent.

in the year 2015

Played 36 won 24, Drawn 6 Lost 6 ,78 Points

10 points higher than the 2nd best team of 2015 Manchester City.

EDIT This is based on other teams playing to the same level. If City go on some sort of mental winning streak we'll need to do a bit better.

considered good enough to actually win the title.

If you follow.

They have no chance this year/next year etc

If some how Leicester won the league it would be rather confusing.

"Consistent" might be more suitable imo

Or "Better luck with injuries" even

You know, those kind of words

I thought as long as we're in touch (5 points) at New Year, we'd have a really good shot. Very tough Jan-Mar but a lovely run in

that all of the injured players keep having their 'due back' dates pushed further and further away.

Our particular catch-22 lies in proving we are good enough to win it without actually winning it. And, as others have bitterly pointed out, even if we do win it, we won't be good enough because our rivals will have been poor.

and would be out for 12 weeks. So after 9 weeks it will become clear he does need surgery after all and will be out for another 10 weeks then.
So in total that is...a lot of weeks.

Basically, if we are playing ****, it doesn't matter who we are supposed to play.

At best they will come back for the run in pretty rusty.

We are going to have to manage with flamini, ramsey and a bit of arteta (i no longer count wilshere at all). That alone makes me think it isnt really worth getting too excited about a title challenge, particularly as we have now broken sanchez.

only then is it worth speculating.

In the meantime we have Spurs, City, Utd, Liverpool away to play yet plus losing at Stoke to consider.

Tougher game. Hard to see us winning that one.

I think the bigger issues is making sure we turn up every week. We dont need to win at anfield, old trafford, spurs, the etihad. Not necessarily. We just need to put away all the other games and not have a horrible dip in form.

The worry is that he will now plod along with the current elevent until they drop. It is still injuries that will most likely ruin the season. Ozil has to be next, he must be on his last legs already.

And it has always ended the same.

Regardless of what happens with injuries in the next few months the loss of coquelin and cazorla for so long long is a huge, huge blow. I suspect that alone is enough to make the title challenge unsustainable. And we know it wont be alone.

On the other he is almost certsin to lose arteta and rosicky over the summer so he is bound to need to buy then. Given our current situation re injuries, cand our current standngnn the league, cwe really need that new person now. There would be no point in waiting.

But he isnt going to settle for what he can get. He will wait until the summer if he has to for the right person.

On balance, i think it is unlikely he will buy anyone in january.

The other question is whether it is worth bothering with wilshere any more. I am beginning to think he is just a waste of a space in the squad.

You can't have it both ways :-)

We actually dont need any. If they want to pay someone to be injured, pay me. I would accept a far lower salary and i promise i will never be fit.
