I've been to Wales, for example. Wolverhampton. Eastbourne. I've seen dullardry and I've dealt with it. But consider a journey from, say, Ostend to Liege by car on a drizzly day in November.

By Ghent one will be considering self-harm. By Brussels one will certainly have punched any other occupant of the vehicle, and by around Leuven it is likely that one will simply park the car at the side of the motorway and weep for the hopelessness of life.

Such is Belgium. Is it any wonder that people become enraged at the thought of it?

There's a great patat place on the Damrak which looks touristy but actually serves the good stuff. You'll see the queue.

For the proper kroket experience you're better off going to an eetcafe, really. Twee kroketten met friet is what you want. Fritessaus and mosterd. :cloud9: :eat:

I am a huge fan of your English beers. Quite often the highlight of my visits to your country.

For a land so associated with alcohol I find our general range of ‘beer’(non-spirits/wine) to be appalling, save for Guinness obviously. There are some truly excellent smaller beers on the market now but to drink them in public it is accepted though not actually law yet that one has to be ironic, have a beard and approve of board games in pubs.

In your country and places like the US where the range of beers is crap, I can see the value of the whole micro-brewery thing. I just don't get it over here, though, where we already have a huge selection of excellent beers made my large breweries and which don't require you to converse with some c**t with a nose ring, sleeve tattoos and a beard like George V.
