If he spoke normally and dropped the act/character then even fewer people would give a f**k. He has to do that to sell the Notorious persona which in turn sells the whole UFC or whatever it is called.

Thing is the other night he had run off and scaled the side of the cage before the fight was officially ended, it was a fix to allow the pay per viewing public see him fight Aldo and to sustain the myth being built around him. The overall global or whatever organising body needed the fight also.

We had a documentary made about him on RTE, The Notorious. Followed him around for months in the build up to fights, he puts a savage amount of work in fairness to him and at times on the show came across as very likeable. He would then switch and become instantly obnoxious.

His following, as such, is domestically made up 100% from scumbags as essentially you are watching partly glamourised street fighting.
