That is pretty dreadful.

I cry every time I hear 'Fairytale of New York', of course, which makes December quite the lachrymose month for me.

Yes, it makes me a bit tearful.

I was in Tesco the other day and struck by the fact that no-one turns a hair when lines like 'You're an auld **** on junk' and 'You scumbag, you maggot, you cheap, lousy faggot' come on.

The world has changed since Bing Crosby's day, hasn't it? :-(

end of it.

With no religion, there are no standards of decency. They swear on the TV, girls get drunk and sleep around, homos hold hands in public.

Truly, there will soon come a flood and wash everything away.

'be nice to each otter' and **** like that. No fun.

someone who uses the bad word.

Say what you like about Andy Townshend, but I doubt he'd ever use the bad word.

dehydration by the second chorus :-(

He's a lovely man, Chris. I sat next to him at dinner once. He's got a really deep voice, all Geordie and that, and he chuckles. And he's lovely and polite. Dresses like a proper rock star, as well.

Just that f**king song.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

the windscreen wipers slapping rhythmically in front of your eyes, and you, warm and cosy in your car, heading for the comfort of the loving bosom of your family :cloud9:

That's actually made me well up a bit.

Perhaps he said, 'bigger'. 'Pigger'. 'Ligger'. 'Trigger'. 'Snigger'.

There are, quite literally, millions of possibilities.

You're going to drink a rake of pints, piss in the font, and leer inappropriately at a nun. :-(

They should not be leered at. Although I did see an attractive one in Seville this summer, which was a bit weird. I concluded that, being a nun, she probably hadn't attended to her nunly lady parts in ages and this stopped me thinking blasphemous and impure thoughts about her.

I open champagne with my breakfast then it is full steam ahead for the day.

They're all fully shaven and, of course, mad for both Sapphic and cockular love.

I've seen it in a movie.

I'm not sure the ladies in those films are really nuns, you know?

often play with his tinkie.

At secondary school age he was transferred to a similar facility run by priests and was frequently encouraged to participate in mutual tinkie games.
