group stage or simply not qualified for the tournament at all, yet still kept his job, presumably...

then will he perform to his highest standard.

i'm sure others would say that the opposite would be the case as he isn't judged on 15 games or so.

Depends if you are Wenger is a SFC or if he is the best manager we could have

, say in mid table, he'd keep his job?

I think there's a fair chance he would have quit if we'd not won the cup final
Vs hull, even though we finished fourth that year. If correct, seems odd to say his job is entirely safe.

so yes, his job is safe... massive difference between quitting and being sacked

Brentwood

concerned about. He'd get millions as a pay out and walk into a new job tomorrow

Pressure from moaning fans and the media is probably top of the list

Either today or tomorrow.

a board sacking him against his will?

I think in Wenger's case you're right that he would almost certainly
not face the latter scenario. What I suspect would happen if we really f**ked
up by finishing, say, midtable is that he and the board would both agree it's time he left.

Do you seriously disagree? You think the board would back him if he finished way off the CL places?

entertaining the idea that another manager could possibly do better?

Or another reason?

I don't think I'd want them tossers picking the next bloke tbh.

I'd rather their private jet crash into the frozen Potomac river :cloud9:

Good Blondie song btw

I believe they would wait until his contract ran out rather than sack him.

He has made millions for the club and that is unlikely to change.

So they don't have the balls imo
