Talking of Piers, Hillary's moment in the sun reminded me of the time that I punched Piers Benn for having the temerity to be related to his uncle Tony? He went to my school, you see. Which means I have been like this since I was 15 :-(

Nistelrooy incident that began 'The face of the beautiful game was stained with tears of shame and rage yesterday…'

This sanctimony from a man who was happy to defend Taylor and Shawcross when they broke Arsenal players' legs. c**t.

last night was f**king priceless. The words 'like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle' sprang to mind. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/xmashehe1.gif

anything new to the argument, did he? Indeed, his main thrust seemed to be, 'ISIS are fascists and so we ought to fight them', a position with which no one, as far as I know, is disagreeing.

Alan Johnson giving the Corbynites a good kicking was also highly amusing.

We're there because our status in the international community demands that we be there. To do other would be to diminish ourselves. All the oratory, justifications and objections simply don't matter in the face of that single, salient fact.

I'm a bit confused that we have this wonderful spangly 'Brimstone' missile, but our new generation of strike aircraft can't launch the f**king thing.

Someone didn't think this through.

The F35 really is starting to look like one of the biggest white elephants in military procurement history (which is not a sphere unfamiliar with white elephants, of course). Almost certainly the last ever manned fast jet interceptor, which will probably enter service around the time that manned fast jet interceptors become obsolete.

It's all going to be pasty-looking chaps in hangars in places like Waddington from here on in, I fear.

Have you seen the film 'Good Kill'? It's about that sort of thing. Very good, but it'll probably depress you.
