View Full Version : At the moment, predictions of Corbyn being gone by Christmas are starting to look rather ambitious.

would be nice to have some opposition though. Conservatives are like Bayern at the moment. No won gets near them but they are hugely unpopular and likely to invade Poland at the drop of a hat

I'm all for obliteration of IS but would the UK adding a few bombs really make any tangible difference? Perhaps the first thing we should do is to to start working with partners to build a coherent overall policy, and NATO telling Turkey to stop helping IS, or it can f**k off.

Last time Cameron wanted to bomb Syria, he wanted to help IS by bombing the government forces. Are we sure he knows what he wants to do this time? Will he admit that we can't pick and chose which Islamists we support? Will he admit that his policy of removing Assad is not consistent with wiping out IS and other Jihadis?

Both bookish, North London ascetic idealists who value their unattainable ideals over the pragmatic necessities required for success...

military strategy with a defined goal - but I'm not convinced there is. But we know that Corbyn's objection is a straightforward kneejerk 'Stop The War', 'Look at me I'm such a morally superior sanctimonious pacifist' reaction.

Or, as we call it, 'being a lefty'.

We have to be seen to be doing the honourable thing and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our allies, etc, etc.

Plus we get to obliterate a few Allans, so it's all good.

I'm not sure exactly what we're supposed to bomb. They hardly have airfields, armament factories or large concentrations of troops, do they?

Perhaps we're trying to destroy their invasion fleet before they launch it?

Surely you'd be behind that?

Get those jets fired up, boys.

Why not into the pockets of hard-working British small businessmen, eh?

That would serve them right.

We can do something by properly backing the Kurds on the ground, and sharing intelligence with those already bombing. Russia have said "look, if you can identify targets, let us know".

And if Russia wasn't hitting IS, why did IS kill hundreds of Russian civilians the other week?
