What sort of man gets to 42 without ever having bought carpet, a?

I must out and buy some this very weekend!

Nothing ruins a good, pissy evening more than having to interrupt it by having to dab at a stain and then pouring white wine onto it for an hour.

Mind you, it's good to know that white wine serves some purpose.

It's lovely to read all tucked up cosy with a glass full of the true, the blushful Hippocrene with beaded bubbles winking at the brim.

It is less lovely, however, to wake in the early hours with purple mouth, the light still on, contacts still in and a near-empty wine glass glaring at you accusingly. :-(

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Halliburton#Flying_Car pet_Expedition (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Halliburton#Flying_Carpet_Expedition)

In 1930 Halliburton hired pioneer aviator Moye Stephens on the strength of a handshake—for no pay, but unlimited expenses[14]—to fly him around the world in an open cockpit biplane. The modified Stearman C-3B was named the Flying Carpet after the magic carpet of fairy tales, subsequently the title of his 1932 best-seller. They embarked on "one of the most fantastic, extended air journeys ever recorded"[14] taking 18 months to circumnavigate the globe, covering 33,660 miles (54,100 km) and visiting 34 countries.

Would make a good movie.
