Was very impressed with the fake Brady over the two games (well the bits of Friday that I could see).

And just how did Spahic stay on the pitch?

Or are they all still Cascarino types?

As in being so remarkably average yet capable of a result on any given day, 4 points from 6 against you lot being the prime example.

We're not just going to make up the numbers this time though.

As for Spahic, Ronnie Whelan was about to combust when he was not carded and off for the free which led to the second. Instantly forgotten.

Spotter fact: Brady played for St Kevins in Artane, as did the real Brady. No relation.

May explain the over-riding sense of mediocrity about the team.

Walters and McCarthy are two obvious blow-ins.

Nice to see McCarthy adding a Scottish presence to the Euros though

Weller Week in Dublin. An unofficial term not exactly sanctioned by Bord Failte but a fitting one imo.

The excitement is tangible.

Forgotten what a stupid number 6 groups is in an international tournament - Italia 90 springs to mind

Exciting times indeed. I wish you well of it.

'82 definitely was.

last 16. Basically the group stage was 36 games to eliminate 8 teams.

1982 was 6 groups of 4 with the top through going through to a second group stage of 4 groups of 3 with the winners of the groups going into the semi finals. Possibly more sensible
