View Full Version : I'm more than happy for our Indian brethren to enjoy Diwali. Good luck to them.

However, I do wish they would not try and make us eat any of their nasty-arse sickly sweets. I tried one out of politeness and am in danger of going into diabetic coma.

It's not even real politeness. It's basically submission.

politely refused. However, because it's an ethnic minority with an ethnic sweet I felt somehow compelled to take one to prove I'm not a racist. Pathetic really. :-(

Mind you, there is a chance I'm overthinking it.

Mind you, we also have some fairly ****ty stuff as christmas traditions when you think about it. Mince pies, for example, utterly vile.

The outmoded obsession with dried fruit mystifies me. We have actual nice sweet stuff these days. You don't have to eat f**king preserved orange rind anymore, you weirdos.

makes them an excellent way to quench a hunger and a sweet tooth without gorging on refined sugar.

The dried fruit is clearly doing a bang up job.

Seriously, though, you do need to watch dried fruit. Sometimes it's actually made with so much added sugar that you might as well eat a pack of Smarties instead.

Marrying a 16 year old, you filthy old *******.

Fair play, without him I wouldnt have discovered the Fall or The Smiths, still well on the nonce spectrum, mind.

I would also actually question his use of the word "lush" in any context unless referring to the smelly shop of that name.

And I am not to keen on quenching a hunger either

I can eat however much chocolate I want. It doesn't make me fat and I more than offset it with a generally good diet.

This is because I am fundamentally biologically better than you.

I did hear the other day that whenever people who work with Tony Blackburn ask him how he's doing, he gives the double thumbs up and says "Still not in jail!"

Which makes me like Tony Blackburn more than I ever thought possible.

I know he settled in East Anglia but I dont think you can get married at 15 there, can you?

Although he banged a fair bit of jailbait over here as well I think.

Could Monty be a Welsh woman now though? He seems to be very into his transgender politics. NWWTOC - except for the Welsh bit

One day you will find that you are no longer able to eat what you want. I, too, used to think that only stupid people got old.

Beef stir fry with a good tablespoon of orange zest is quite wonderful.
