Cheap rhetorical tricks for the unwary.

However, if you were to simply read the script, you would be much less convinced by this one-sided stuff and its cherry-picked version of history. Ask yourself why he needs all the visual and aural pyrotechnics if he's so convinced of the strength of his argument.

well and that it's as well to be wary of it, particularly since the style is an attempt to disguise a lack of substance.

homophone of oral. Perhaps if it were pronounced 'ow - rul' that would solve this most vexing conundrum?

Also, bear in mind that Curtis was the buffoon who was trying to convince us in 2004 that Al Qaeda was just a myth made up by America - something that was clearly and demonstrably false - particularly in the light of the 2005 bombings in this country.

I've always quite liked his strangely dreamlike style, I think it gives valuable mood music to some pieces and actually goes a long way to illustrate some of his best work. It was certainly apt and beneficial to The Power of Nightmares.

inconvenient historical facts divert him from his chosen narrative.

He uses his moderate, 'sensible' tones and a variety of tricks to tell lies. What's to like? He's no more credible than Bill O'Reilly.

Neocon stooge The Guardian. :hehe:

Nice attempt to rubbish the source rather than deal with the substance, though. Classic jorge.

The fact is that in foreign policy terms he was a naive fool who trusted Stalin and thus condemned half of Europe to 50 years of vicious oppression and the rest of the world to Cold War. The man was a c**t.

Both Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer had previously spent several months in Pakistan where they certainly went through jihadist training camps. Where do you think the money and logistics for those were coming from?

Al Qaeda means 'The Base' and was designed to be a central point for all worldwide jihadist activity, providing money, arms, training and logistical support. This they did in the case of the 7/7 bombers.

53. Khan’s video statement was broadcast together with a statement by Al Qaida’s deputy leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri supporting the attacks.
54. In a second video, broadcast on 19 September, Zawahiri went further stating that Al Qaida “launched” the attacks.
“London’s blessed raid is one of the raids which Jama’at Qa’idat al- Jihad (Al Qaidah of Jihad Group) was honoured to launch....In the Wills of the hero brothers, the knights of monotheism – may God have mercy on them, make paradise their final abode and accept their good deeds....”

"A videotape of Mohammed Siddique Khan released after the attacks also featured footage of Osama bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri. The Home Office believes the tape was edited after the suicide attacks and dismisses it as evidence of al-Qaeda's involvement in the attack."

credit for the attacks on behalf of Al Qaeda. The report you quote was written based on the leak of one piece of information. The official one I've quoted includes all the evidence available and concludes it was extremely likely this was an Al Qaeda attack. It seems pretty clear which is more credible.

Most intelligence sources agree it was an Al Qaeda-orchestrated attack and all the circumstantial evidence tends to support that assertion. Given which, it seems perverse to conclude that the 7/7 bombings had "nothing to do with Al Qaeda" as you did.
