Has anyone doe Kuala Lumpa to Singapore by train ? 1st class and premium berth ones

look ok ? B ? Sir C ? thinking might use train around Malaysia and Singapore when there over xmas and NY..for 3 WEEKS :)..so far book KL, Georgetown, Langkawi, Singapore..seems ok little mix up, as dont want too much travel but train better than those dodgy little air malay planes..i cant trust any flight thats an hour long and costs 11quid!! toooo cheap..train gives views, food , drink, straight into town centre..see the good work all our army boys did whislt dying in 1940s too ? what say anyone ?

but having just got my son car and stuff im also trying someboutique places recommended by a colleague who lives in KL , who thinks all those places are tourist traps

They were built to be tourist traps.

Outside south east Asia I definitely favour boutique hotels these days.

man running round me imo :-) crazy today 73.2 kg after run..76.4 kg after bike ride..and loads of protin shakes n liquids plus a rice n veg stir fry.. over 3 KG diff in one day!

should i keep trader or oriental?

Traders is crap, dont stay there. Good bar on top floor but hotel is not great.

Shangri-la and mandarin oriental are a completely different class. Outstanding hotels, i would go with shangri-la for the better entrance and lobby bar. Rooms are slightly better as well.
