They're having to get on Easyjet flights.

I'd rather stay and take my chances with the Allens, tbh.

Easyjet's too good for them, they should be forced to read the daily mail on BA flights.

That said, one of my colleagues flew out on the Monday and his was the last plane to get out because of the fog. The pilot apparently announced he was going to chance his arm by taxi-ing out to the runway and presenting ATC with a fait accompli. He then said that, once airborne, he would 'fly this thing like it's stolen'. :hehe:

Though it is worth mentioning Castro overthrew a military dictatorship - one for the interests of the few - and installed a people's dictatorship with proper social policies.

BA, KLM or Air France, City to Rotterdam. Bish, bosh, job done.

Avoids the Hades that is Schipol, too.

That pilot chappie certainly had a fine sense of humour! He made it up though.

pleasant middle-class folk with a penchant for archaeology? I need to know whether to sympathise with them or despise them.

Oh, and tell that salivating reactionary Berni that uncle Fidel was good friends with Che and The Manic Street Preachers so must be a good chap. I would tell him but he'd simply revile me for having once worked with my hands. ( you know the sort of thing J -humiliating jibes about pulling jobbies out of U-bends )

If they're on the Polderbaan (which they often are) at Schiphol you have a minimum of 20 minutes taxi time to the runway, followed by a 20 minute walk to immigration. If you're lucky, your bags may appear inside an hour. The place is an utterly dysfunctional ****hole.

Rotterdam has you through and clear in 20 minutes, tops. I use Rotterdam even if I'm visiting Amsterdam.

On the way there, I was off the plane, through immigration, had collected my luggage and was on the train platform within 15-20 minutes.

The train was delayed, though.

have experienced the 20 minute taxi, probably more often thatn not.

The 'taxi' part is after the aeroplane has landed and when it rolls along on its wheels to the airport building, j.

For instance, I remember someone telling me how great Changi airport is, but I still hated it. Airports are just awful places, j.

Some of these overhead bags are quite spacious from what I can tell.

Berni
11-06-2015, 01:46 PM
cram them into already-full overhead lockers and then have massive hissy fits when politely informed by cabin crew that their 'small bag' will have to go into the hold.

Speak not to me of these 'small bag people', sw. They are the worst type of person.

I find it suits my busy lifestyle and still suggests an element of danger. Anything less than 1 week is covered.

You can find them anywhere on the web.
