The injury was a huge set back but there's definitely a good player in there.
It's been his sad misfortune that his recovery has coincided with the emergence of one of the best young prospects in the game.

Maybe the injuries affected him mentally coz he hasn't been going into tackles as effectively as he did in the latter stages on Wednesday. Getting him angry might just have tore down the cobwebs

Another good prospect but needs three or four games to get back into his rhythm.
A pairing with Kos would be the way forward, having the height option of Mertesacker as back up.
Problem being that Kos seems to be yet another one of those players with a season ticket to the treatment room.

Can't really pin any of it on MD.

He had one particular howler where he appeared to have lost all common and positional sense but otherwise he has improved. One particular cup game I thought he played well and was very unfairly singled out for criticism, the easy target syndrome so readily employed.
