Liverpool showing 7 injuries, when they're basically only missing
Sturridge and Henderson.
Uniteds list is an embarrassment when you reflect upon players not known to anyone outside the club.
Yet again, we're amongst the worst with at last 5 key players from the 8 listed.
Chelsea's list yet again is amongst the shortest. I wonder if we could poach their backroom staff ? :rubchin:

Though it was a bit retarded reading everywhere that we were in a midst of an injury crisis when effectively we played 9 of our first choice XI plus Giroud on Satursday

Theo's list of injuries :yikes:

Next day it reported that he had had a setback.

I must admit I did laugh.

All make regular appearances when fully fit.
Perhaps Welbeck and Wilshere more on the fringes but both would walk into most other first elevens in the PL ?

Even though anyone associated with that decade has been largely sullied nowadays :-(

I just struggle with the concept of Welbeck as key.

Useful perhaps.

Do you agree that our continued CL status has played a crucial role in putting us where we are now (enabling us, as it has, to sign Ozil and Sanchez) and what makes you so confident another manager would have kept that status during a period that we know coincided with heavily restricted finances?

Chap really has to manage a long injury free period as soon as (physically) possible.

Best option long-term beside Coquelin.

He's all like "Yay! We woooonnnnn!" and then it hits him "Oh bloody hell, I'm going to have to explain myself to that c**t Monty ad infinitum/nauseum all next week now"

won or chasllenged for the PL and thatwe wouldn't get past the last 16 in the CL even with good group draws?

So in other words who the hell knows where we would have been, could have been worse, could have been better.... it all depends what, as a club, they want.

I mean, for all of Santi's lack of 'statue' not being a problem he is at least solid. Jack is basically PVA and balsawood now.

I think even throughout the austerity years we always had an outside chance of winning the league, but it was never in doubt that at some point we would need to spend more.

I had no idea when this point would arrive, so I was neither confident nor unconfident.

so the slagging off you give anyone who complains about AW is from a position of hindsight only... and even then, a different manager might well have done better... we will never know

far stronger than those to get rid, which seemed to me to lack rationality or logic and instead were based on crude, ill-judged instincts.

The facts don't really stack up to much over a pro longed period of disappointments.
CL qualification, followed by early elimination across a six year period. The Birmingham beer cup defeat.
Safe to say that his bacon has been largely saved because of two admirable FA Cup wins, ironically a competition that you have regularly besmirched.

Hamstrings with Giggs I seem to recall, few weeks out and back. Lifestyle changes as much as anything allowed recovery.

JW is missing huge chunks of seasons in one go.
