up for the bog standard punter.
Wider aisles facilitate much larger seats and improved leg room over a 777.
Some nice touches with outside camera views in pilot cabin, tail and under carriage for the nerds, larger cabin screens.
A very impressive plane.
As an aside, the route dropped down through Turkey and ran along the length of Iran. Last time it cut across Saudi from the west.
Political changes and all that. I suppose they're also less likely to shoot down a muslim carrier :hide:

Compared to other passenger planes?

Not withstanding some people coming on board with a wailing toddler...of course...

Wailing toddlers.. Why anyone would want to take a baby to a place with 35 degree heat is beyond me.

Having chosen to spawn, is it too much to ask that you keep the wailing, puking ****ting brat to yourself for a few years?

A chap needs to economise on other things.
By the way, what was your hotel recommendation in Sri Lanka ? I seemed to remember you mentioning it a while back and things seem a bit more politically stable.

In January we did Colombo - Kandy - Hatton - Yala - Tangalle. I can give you good recommendations in those places.

My favourite part was up in the hills at Hatton, staying on an old tea plantation.

recall a beautiful old bamboo (might have been something else) tree by the driveway to the bungalow I was saying in.

We got the train up there as well and our driver met us there - A lovely journey.

It seems fairly central and will have that important beach location for Mrs 7

missed out on Yala as the hotel we were supposed to stay at was still being rebuilt after the tsunami. I'm planning on making a visit back so I can go.

Kandy is a must and if you can muster a night walk up Adam's Peak - it's well worth it.

Look south for your beach part. Bentota, Galle, Tangalle. There are some lovely places down there.
