As much as we all don’t care about the competition, Wenger had at least some duty to try to win the game. The only possibility of doing so was to pick a handful of first teamers. With our big hitters all needing a rest, Ox was the obvious candidate to be our attacking pivot through the middle.
Should Wenger have risked Theo after Ox’s injury? Again, he had a duty to win the game and as far-from-ideal as the situation was, I don’t think he had any choice.
