What a grubby attack on the most vulnerable people in society that wouldve been.

Not that I don't agree with the sentiment of the post though

I mean, how can you possibly survive on GBP73 per week?

Stupid of the Govt to assume the motion would be carried through, it's almost as if they wanted an excuse to stuff the chamber with tory stooges. :holmes:

It wasnt in their manifesto, precisely because it would have revealed them to be the nasty *******s they pretended not to be.

I thought pilots were still a year away and given the way they needed to re-jig funding to do it, it would end up costing parents more.

Still a lot to work out if it's upped to 30, yes.

Any poor parent should have their kid in childcare
for at least 2 days a week, otherwise they deserve f**k all.

I realise you're probably the wrong place to go for empathy here but surely you realise that you cant feed kids with pie in the sky pilot plans.

I'd imagine any single mother knows the system backwards, if for nothing else then for the sake of her kids, and will be using everything she can.

their innate parental guilt, refuse to put their children in childcare, even if financially it makes sense.

The free childcare should not be sniffed at. It allows any parent the freedom to find at least part-time work. And if this is upped to 30 - and a pledge is better than nothing - they could do a full working week with the savings.

I presume these people will have to rely on their savings, or possibly cash in a few shares, to get by in the meantime.
