View Full Version : The Walcott/Giroud situation is a strange one.

It has it's pros and cons.

It's good to have a completely different style of player on the bench should one not be working.

Giroud is the better finisher of the 2. But Walcott better on the counter attack.

if we could some how combine the 2 players together we'd have 1 good striker.

his arse off for most of the game and failed to score.

It's a weird sort of strike partnership.

Buy that elusive striker who can come in and make that position his own.

Look how well Falcao's turning out at Chelsea and to spend 50m plus on so called top talent would have been a desperate gamble against those we have already at the club.

And we probably would have ended up with Lewandowski that showed up last night rather than the good one

Pierre-Emerick Emiliano Francois Aubameyang is the answer (though I forget the question)

And that was in a song advocating racial harmony! :yikes:

The 70s truly were a different planet, weren't they?

never could.

Also, Theo's movement seems to be a bit more savvy these days.

I prefer Theo, as Arsene does. But as you say, nice to have Giroud for certain games/situations.

"Walcott has improved considerably on his finishing."

Or is he simply being given a longer, and more fair, run at the position in order to stake his claim.

Theo has always scored goals and is continuing to do so but he does still miss a fair number of (very good) chances, which indeed most strikers do.

Last night’s header for example, Giroud would have been crucified for that.

Other elements of his forward play appear to have improved more obviously than his finishing.

defending in a certain manner and then how difficult it is to adapt to dealing with a completely different striker in Giroud, essentially, not easy

while. He comes back as a judge most years and is unnecessarily nasty about everything.

Basically, he's a c**t.
