View Full Version : The Ox is in a bit of a funk at the moment isn't he? Looks like he needs a shrink.

Didn't even celebrate avec the lads for our second because he was too mopey about missing the follow-up.

V strange imo.

Even though he appears shot of any confidence in front of goal.

I imagine Ramsey's injury will be rather good for him. He's much more of a natural fit in that position too.

Also, I couldnt care less about his shooting, it's his maddening passing that really needs to improve.

Then when he continually loses the ball we can overlook it.

huge amount of talent fighting for a regular spot at one of Europe’s biggest clubs. He has a wealth of experience and talent ahead of him in the pecking order and having started the season hoping to have forced himself into the first team he now finds himself on the bench for most games and his confidence has obviously been affected. His attitude is not, as far as I know, in question by anyone. Indeed, the comments we have heard from Wenger is that he is, if anything, too critical of himself. Anyone with a brain knows that, in the long time, that is something that can be harnessed into a positive attribute.

So for you to suggest that it may be time for Wenger to give up on him *is* by any objective measurement, the comment of a cretin.

We need him to protect it more.

As you stated, there's huge competition for places at a club like ours and no player can sustain a career here unless they can command regular starts.
I made the point about him benefiting from Ramsey's injury, we can all see his ability but we can all recognise his frailties, which aren't all related to his age.
I simply have a feeling that be it now or in two or three years, he'll come up short against the players we have and those that Wenger or another manager will bring in

If he were playing he'd be happier and have more confidence.

Basically it's all down to a slightly **** injury record, that's the root of it.

So perhaps he is actually gutted that he's just on the periphery.

That would make perfect sense in the context of what Arsene has said about him and his own form/reaction to form.

So suck on that.

For which you couldn't blame her, him being such an ugly f**k and all.

It's not a question of his ability or analytics but how he's measured against others already at the club and those of the signings the manager is likely to make going forwards.

The fans wouldn't write him off if he failed to shine in those six or seven games, primarily because his age and potential.
The damage would come from within himself.
If Ramsey slots back immediately into the starting line up, the Ox may be at the point of seriously evaluating his opportunities at the club.

but then some people can't get that heads round their heads that footballers can have more than one position. Not your good self on this occasion, m - I quite agree that the Ox has to play

the best at tracking back - though to give him his due he tries harder than some would say - and the unpredictability (for the opposing defence) in the passes he picks is reduced if he isn't in a central position.

He may not be an out and out striker but he remains an attacking midfielder.
His ability to pick out a good pass, often at the expense of a dribbling run on goal.
At this point, I'd be inclined to weigh in with most and put it largely down to confidence.
