it is hardly far-fetched to imagine that sometimes biology may go wrong and leave people feeling in the 'wrong' body. As we know, there are significant numbers of people across the world reporting that this is indeed how they feel and that it causes them great psychological anguish.

It *is*, however, far-fetched to imagine that biology has a habit of going wrong enough to make large numbers of us think we're parrots.

Furthermore, nowhere does this chap indicate he believes it to be anything other than a lifestyle choice.

but that doesn't make them a good basis for medical procedure, ffs! Clitoridectomy for 'hysterical' women, cupping, bleeding and leeches were once considered 'hardly far fetched', whereas germ theory was widely mocked for decades by the medical establishment - as, more recently, was the idea that stomach ulcers were bacterial in origin. Yet the last two were rock solid scientific FACT proved by actual data while the other lot were *******s based on exactly the sort of superficial surmise you've just made.

As for the numbers, as soon as you tell attention-seeking loonies their lunacy is OK, guess what? Millions of them will crawl out of the woodwork.
