check-out. The whole queue was laughing at me :-( What kind of incentive is this???
Apparently, according to the old biddy who served me, far more men than women are coming to supermarkets with their own bags after the 5p charge was nobught in.

Marks have done it for a while though
"Marks & Spencer, which has charged 5p for larger bags for the past eight years, gives its profits to WWF, the Marine Conservation Society and educational projects about marine life."

We've been paying for them for years. It becomes second nature to just forget them and pay for new ones.
rip and collapse..id rather 5pfor safe bag than free ones where at least once every few month it splits and drops a wine or spirit bottle on drive..so costing me far more than 5p in long run
