View Full Version : Given this is a famed right wing echo chamber can any of you explain what this is all about?

Have they made Slash from Guns n Roses their new cross bench peer advising on privatising the NHS or something?

Seriously, though, I really don't want them to replace Dave with Osborne. :-( I know he's clever and apparently personally charming, but at the moment he has all the popular appeal of Zyklon-B. He'd beat Corbyn, of course, but if the Labour party come to their senses any time soon, he might struggle.

Boris, on the other hand, would walk it.

I’m not being bitchy – I’m just surprised that a public figure wouldn’t be better advised. No one wants a frump running the country.

Merkel is a pretty unpleasant looking woman but she knows how to keep everything tucked in.

makes her look old, but she could get away with it if she frumped up sufficiently. Instead, she wears slinky dresses better suited to a woman 10-15 years younger, which only serves to emphasise how old she looks.

I find using a bit of product tends to de-accentuate the grey in other areas. Not dye, just a bit of moulding wax and whatnot.

I don't think I've ever heard a PM acknowledge the use of Realpolitik before.

knows the buffoon bit is an act - one that many people like very much. Boris is clearly the most popular choice as far as mixed polls are concerned. I have little doubt he'd win the next election easily.

Thing is, even though you pretend not to like it, the privileged buffoon look is actually very popular with voters, who mostly also wish to be privileged buffoons. If only because it pays well.

Or, for that matter, us providing prison services to a country who are executing minors.

There's realpolitik and there's just abandoning all morals at the airport.

He's just called for "No more passive intolerance in britain" in his speech though, so that's OK then.

Osborne, not so much. Though he did make a decent ****ing joke at the GQ awards a few years ago.

Seriously though, you've never voted?! What's the reason, ambivalence, antipathy, a busy schedule?

as they reckon, for one thing, it's only mummy's boys etc. that find it disturbing, and that's part of the fun.

I reckon Angler's looks, or rather her lack of them, is what makes her electable. If she looked like Heidi Klum, she'd lose a good half of her support.

still would've looked weird.

You'd actually have had a much better argument if you'd said that a lot of the 'he looks weird/nerdy/wrong' stuff had a background hint of anti-semitism to it in so far as it was sort of saying 'You know he's Jewish, right?', without actually saying it.

But the bacon sandwich? Nah.

comment about Howard, which was so clearly a barely-disguised anti-semitic slur that I'm amazed that you, who can see anti-semitism in a bacon sandwich, seem strangely blind to it.
