It is of course different here as we are more forward thinking, pioneers you could say, but not in a drinking context of course.

Monies received from our plastic bag levy all go into a central Environment Fund which was created from The Waste Management (Amendment) Act, 2001.

The monies from said fund probably go on big meals and piss ups.

goes straight to the retailer. They say they will give this money to charity, but only once they've deducted 'staff and training costs' (ie a ****load of cash).

Not that 5p will make any difference to my shopping but it's so obviously *******s it annoys me greatly.

It's a weird message. You can pollute or kill poor animals in with plastic bags as long as you pay.

Why can't we have paper bags?

The other part of it is. I am not going to take my own bags somewhere. I feel really cool walking around with carrier bags in my pocket. Oh here comes carrier bag cund.

Also yesterday I went in to tescos and they had the staff holding them like they were gold so you had to go to the performance of asking for a bag at the self check out.
