Seems like Theresa May is trying to appeal to the worse nature of the whole of the tory party in her bid to become leader. Admittedly that's a big target but come on...

about Calais and people moving across europe and think they're all heading for England (especially when they look at the immigration figures and just see a number and not look beyond that). The reality is only 10000 asylum applications were approved in the last year, the same amount Germany is getting every day.

It does seem as though the more anti-immigration sentiment you can rouse the less likely people are to vote to remain part of the EU, which obviously gives the right wing press a massive hard on.

other than cost.
They probably speak very little English and most will be unskilled. I'd have thought we have a surplus of employment in those areas, we're not exactly an economy built on manufacturing anymore.
The younger element will adapt but those above a certain age have the potential to become a problem and clog up the services even more than they are already..

Basically.. Select the ones we want and shoot the rest, They're probably carrying TB anyway.

Just curious to know where you're drawing your compassionate lines here.

I'm just trying to get to what you actually think on this, rather than what other people think.

are getting themselves to europe, and then you end up with the situation we are seeing a lot over here now where they complain about where they're put to stay, the food they get, having to walk 30 minutes to the supermarket, etc... Whereas the few poor ones who actually made it out seem to be happy with anything.

I read that they're planning on building extra camps in Turkey to house 2-3 million and all the ones trying to get across to Greece or leave Turkey will be turned back. That's how it should be done, and then you spread out the elderly/women/families equally around europe if it gets too much for the camps. This *******s of 10000 a day is just a clusterf**k.

Those in genuine need are at serious risk of having their plight diluted by images of so called asylum seekers walking around with mobile phones.
Merkel has added to the stampede by raising the gate to all and has probably lured in a growing percentage of chancers who will obviously seize upon the opportunity.
