pretty much a laughing stock, now. Putin is playing Obama like a Stradivarius. We think we are friends with our enemies (not!) and have made enemies of our friends.

Domestically we have an economy in ruin. Lowest labor participation rate (people with jobs) since 1977. No income growth except among the very rich. Having spent boatloads of money we don't have we have nothing to show for it except a mountain of debt.

The White House was going to launch a very important campaign for transgenders until this shooting came up, so now it's full court press on getting to the people that Obama considers to be his real, true enemies - fellow Americans that happen to have different ideas and refuse to bow down to him. He is an angry, petulant man.

Putin is not at war with ISIS, he is at war with the USA and Western Europe. ISIS is very useful to him for the moment.
