You do have some funny ideas, j. Politics is a power game. Nothing more, nothing less. Memberships are just money in the bank and - when necessary - meat in the room in order to help achieve power. If they start imagining that they or what they think are important then you end up with the sort of confused, unfocused, unelectable mess that is currently known as The Labour Party.
