Wenger was right no-one available at all

He played against us last season but there wasnt exactly a massive clamour for us to sign him, and certainly not for 80m euro.

In that sense nobody was available.

Indeed he did and following our Monaco drubbing I was hoping we would plunder teams like this for their talent.....but no....of course not....and he looks and has started much better than any striker this season - 15% of our prem games are done already and we dont look good im afraid to say....

Each week new signings in the premier league will be proving it *******s, as if it wasnt obvious enough already.

And it doesnt matter whether anyone here mentioned the players or not. We are not scouting for arsenal

Us paying Bale/Ronaldo money for anyone, let alone a 19 novice french striker is another thing entirely.

invariably signs within the first few weeks of the last season closing. Cech plainly had his sights on a local move for some time and would be a typical example.
We also know that Chelsea have a penchant for signing a total c**t upfront, therefore Costa wasn't really going anywhere else.

The rest of the window is pure e-bay stuff with the only winners being the agents. There really is no other option than taking it up the arse in the last week or so and only clubs like Manure, Citeh and PSG really tick those boxes. ( I could make a cheap point about 40m for Ozil here, but I'll park that for now ).

No you are right I didn't but as I'm not a f**king scout I wouldn't would I? - I had to endure Monaco last year & all I knew then was that they were better than us and we needed players like them to go forward.

Personally I think someone like Moutinho wouldve made a massive difference, and obviously Kondogbia too.

Would there be anyone from that Monaco side you would have gone for? I mean, obviously, with the benefit of hindsight and all.

Money.

We have never relied on signing established, world class players. Why would we be now?

Martial's fee was pretty close to Bale/Ronaldo money though, not to be a pedant or anything.

I'm not arguing that we dont need anyone, just that Arsene couldnt find what he was looking for.

If he becomes the best player in the world it wont even reach three quarters. And i make no apology for pedantry :-)

It is one thing to fail to get who you want but we have needed a centre forward for three years and six entire transfer windows. In that time the only one he signed was a deadline day wellbeck because giroud was injured.

Three years. At some point you have to change your approach or take a risk, surely?

To end up with nobody at all smacks of something else. We just dont want know what but it certsinly isnt because nobody was available or because wenger believes his squad is good enough to win the league.

the kicker for Arsene was when Draxler pissed off to Wolfsburg....been his no1 target for 3 years now.

No idea why he didn't make a serious move for a top quality striker when so many were available.

My suspicion is that the Benzema talk was invented to give the fans some false hope....that's my suspicion because no one in Real or Benzemas batted an eyelid when the news broke.....the guy just got pissed of being tweeted by Arsenal fans so he posted a message telling us to f**k off.

....

Tottenham should be interesting....our hopes are somewhat pinned on young
Iwobi.

From what I've seen he offers more than Joey and Yaya and has the requisite speed, class and precision to make it....question is if he's ready...hope he is.

Can't see us lumbering on with Giroud (zero pace and misses far too many chances) and Walcott (scores goals but doesn't have the physical prescence the team needs).
