View Full Version : So Corbyn’s tactic at PMQs is to emote, emote, emote.

So much for him bringing authenticity and substance back to politics. This is pathetic.

impacts in others

By making it personal, focusing on edge cases and talking about how the policy directly affected Claire who had to move house because she used to have a disabled son who she cared for, but then he turned 18 and she couldn't find the extra hundred quid a month...

Is he going to focus on issues at such a micro level every week? His perception will be all wrong if he does

who have a realistic cance of being elected, otherwise the tories will become complacent and get away with murder

Fair enough if he wants to lead a party with his 250k voters, but the Tories won with a huge majority this year. Surely it would have been better to pick somebody who could close that gap? This bloke is just too weird to do that in a million years

Probably wouldnt be my opening gambit either but you can see where he's going with it.

And yes, it's probably an error trying to capitalise on the better instincts of the british public.

thing when people get bored of the conservative leadership.

To me 'strong' is standing up for your principles when you know you going to get a complete ****storm for it. Playing the game is cowardice and doesn't represent a real opposition at all.

shift in what the public demonstrably wants that I’m not sure, if you achieved it, you’d still be able to call it democracy.

Two intelligent men who as much as they may believe what they say they also get huge enjoyment from winding up others, mainly Jorge.

There are others of course who chime in like Rich but he’s just a c**t who cannot be taken seriously on any subject he touches on, from sport to his medical qualifications.

Then there is Monty who likes to indulge in what he sees as intelligent debates with the big boys, practice as such for evening debates with his Mrs and their dinner party chums.

Lastly there is Jorge, our raving loony communist who I look upon as a Red Wedge for the modern day, though more Bragg than Weller.

but the vast majority of people in the UK voted Tory. That will continue forever until party B can come up with a way to offer a different alternative. That should be Labour.

So, we have to accept that we'll be forever ruled by the tories, warts and all, until realistic competition comes along. The worst thing about that is that the Tories know it

In fact the number of votes that UKIP got prove that a lot of people do want something different. The support for Corbs suggests this too. Of course, neither constituency have a chance of getting their views represented under the first past the post system, which is why the established parties wil not allow PR and true democracy.

consitute a majority, let alone a vast one? They didn't even get more votes than Labour plus Libdem, let alone when UKIP and Greens are included.

It's only the way that seats are distributed that gave the tories the majority, not the numbers of votes.

Ashberto

a referendum for a really **** and confusing transferable vote system that was only permitted as a sop to the Lib Dems and with the certainty that it would not be taken up.

Luis Anaconda
09-16-2015, 12:32 PM
And why was there no chance of it being taken up? If people wanted change so desperately why did they ignore the chance? There was at least a chance to make a point and it wasn't taken up

Really can't see how you can dismiss that with such utter disdain and at the same time complain about the system
