It seems to me that for all the rhetoric these EU politicians have been completely wrong footed by events and have no clue how to begin to manage the problem..

600 was a figure from earlier in the year before this whole thing got silly.

They will of course regret it. The refugees that is.

"Immigration Minister James Brokenshire told Parliament that the UK has granted asylum to “more than 4,000 Syrians” since the start of the crisis.

The immigration statistics bear this out. From the beginning of the Syrian crisis in early 2011 to the first quarter of 2015, almost 4,200 Syrian refugees were granted asylum in the UK in the initial decision made on their application.

A further 100 people were allowed to stay in the UK through humanitarian protection or discretionary leave."

So that's the situation to date. Moving forward,

"Mr Cameron said: "We have to use our head and our heart.

"We have committed to taking 20,000 people, I want us to get on with that. There is no limit to the amount of people that could come in the first year, let's get on with it."

"But", he added, "let's recognise we have to go to the camps, we have to find the people, we have to make sure they can be housed, we have to find schools for their children, we have to work with local councils and local voluntary bodies to make sure when these people come they get a warm welcome from Britain"."

Why would they need permanent leave to remain?

Are you continuing to claim that we have only accepted 216 Syrian refugees?

Have these 4,000 people been sent back to Syria or have they been granted sanctuary in the UK?

The key point is that we're not accepting any of the ones already in Europe, which begs the question of how we intend to get those 20k in the first place

without any regard for the truth, but simpky to display your anti-Britishness. You have been well and truly found out and I hope you have learnt something from this unseemly episode.

I apologise for labouring the point, but it is only right that in the face of your consistent attacks upon our establishment and culture, from time to time a counter-argument should be presented.

You may consider me a one man Defence of the Realm Act.

typically prefer to live in a 'western' style culture. People bought up in Muslim countries typically prefer to live in an Islamic culture.

Co-existence takes place at this moment in time, but there is very little integration - there's a key difference here.

I'm not suggesting we 'send them home' etc, but there is an argument to say that if they don't want to live by our culture/rules then they shouldn't move here in the first place.
