hairbands were keen to learn the ways of romance and to taste love.

What a time to be alive.

The Jam broke up that year.

It was to that point in my life the most devastating event I had to deal with, but I did. Pretty sure I used my grief to get chicks.

It's all a bit Humbert Humbert imo. :hehe:

I just did not understand it. I knew who Juventus were, naturally as a kid you would absorb global football information in order to stay at the top of the knowledge chain in the school yard, but we had beaten them in the ECWC and moving abroad then was huge for a footballer. We were also quite good.

He walked right past us the year before, or maybe it was 1980, when we were over on a school trip. Our annual trip was to London and took in an Arsenal game and visit to the then training facility behind the Clock End. Probably chuck in a Petticoat Lane and Madama Tussauds for the nerds.

Anyway, as we waited en masse at the steps of the old ground he walked out, down the steps and over the road into a parked car. Gone. Then people slowly looked at each other and realised what had just happened. Blanked us all.

You can imagine the disappointment.

It was a dark few years for sure.

In character, as such.

I would imagine Sir C could have been a good actor in this respect.

this context, the sly old fox.

Unless he meant that they were smelly, I suppose. :rubchin:
