We cannot under our self-sustaining financial model but we could if the club chose to.

I'm not overly bothered with the concept of level playing fields based on finance. We operate on a seperate level to most of the sides in the PL as we have Champions League revenues and general involvement in that tournament that allows us to attract a certain type of player. I don't feel any sympathy for those clubs so I have no sympathy for us in the face of other clubs who choose to spend more.

We chose to spend none other than on Cech. Wenger has decided he is happy with his squad and confident in their ability to deliver.

It is that on which he will be judged come May, as he would like to say.
