That can't be right, can it? It must be more than that, surely?

I've got a 1,500 calorie allowance for my dinner tonight and I want to make the most of it.

You can have two!

so I can have a bottle of claret and a mixed kebab and still save 1,000 calories on the day! I'm also just under my target weight, so f**k knows why I'm bothered.

His would appear to be a fairly forensic analysis of calorie intake. I am not really sure how one would even begin to go about such a task.

Surely one just tries to eat well, or healthily, most of the time. Coupled with a reasonable level of exercise then one is golden.

Had some at the weekend, a 'tuna melt' if you will.

Not great. Thankfully it was a fancy place that had some crinkle cut crisps on the side.

How does one go about identifying the calorific intake of a kebab for instance?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

tuna sandwich. It's always disappointing.

Of course, some of the calorie definitions are tinged with guesswork and won't be quite accurate - but I was surprised to see a large mixed kebab coming in at only around a third of a chap's daily calorie intake. I don't believe that one.

You have that "oh I have not had tuna in a while" thought, or urge.

Then you eat it and realise why.

Sometimes I feel weak and am even tempted by sweetcorn.

Also, the Tuna Nicoise if done well with good tinned tuna is a fine thing.

Anyway it's the salt that will kill you, not the calories.

Or the sugar, I'm not sure. I can’t keep up with the food nazi people.

It's in Great Amwell next to the churchyard where Harold Abrahams out of Chariots of Fire is buried (despite being a Joo - confusing imo). Anyway, we got there at about 2.15 and they didn't have any roast beef left, so the landlord said he'd do me a 8oz sirloin steak instead for the same price. Result imo.
