The worst weather does seem to have happened in the week, which suits me.

Presumably, as the lesser employed of the parents, you'll be handling the bulk of the baby duties?

It's because he has his central heating on too high. He's never become hardened off and thus has never learned to enjoy a good cold day.

a proper scarf and you're as toasty as you could ever wish to be.

And as I reference below, walking into a lounge/pub with roaring fire is a quite wonderful feeling.

walk at lunchtime. Later, I shall go for a run and splash calf-deep through muddy water.

I'll probably get trench foot, but you don't hear me complaining, do you? All part of life's rich pattern, innit.

Furthermore, this evening I must visit my hand surgeon to discuss my operation :-(

He's going to cut lump out of me. Under a local anaesthetic.

Berni
08-26-2015, 03:26 PM
Are you going to watch him hack at you?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
08-26-2015, 03:29 PM
I'm keen to get it done as quickly as possible, but I don't really want to be trekking through a f**king jungle in Rwanda with an open would on my hand letting in f**king bacteria unknown to medical science, so I need to know if he can do it soon and ensure it's fully healed in a couple of weeks.

Although I suspect there would have been really quite a lot of the Egyptian army about to battle Allan's mates, I wasn't risking it.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

Little bit the woticism. Ordered extra scans just to spite the insurance company because he doesn't like Aviva. Made me 'wepeat' after him, over and over, 'We don't expect this to be a cancer!'

Berni
08-26-2015, 03:38 PM
wrongness going on, but you said nothing about a cancer.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
08-26-2015, 03:42 PM
I mentioned this to a friend, who opened his hand to show me his Dupuytren's Contracture.

It is quite clearly a Dupuytren's Contracture.

Dr Madman, however, took one look at it and cried, 'Pwobably not cancer! A Dupuytren's Contracture!'

So, to be honest, I'm assuming it's not cancer, and wondering why he felt the need to bring the subject up.

Berni
08-26-2015, 03:44 PM
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he reckons if a chap of your age and habits rocks up with a lump, he's going to assume it's cancer, so he was trying to put you at your ease.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
08-26-2015, 03:46 PM
