Highlight so far being his anecdote about going for dinner with Ron Atkinson when Man Utd were trying to sign him from Celtic. During the meal Big Ron reached into his shirt and brought out a toothpick from his medallion case and started picking his teeth with it. This was, Charlie recalls, the point he decided he couldn't play for this repugnant man and the rest is history :cloud9:

I'm always a bit surprised at the type of person I like in the radio/interview sense. Marc Maron should be fundamentally irritating but makes a great interviewer, for instance.

One of my mates gave Charlie a lift home as Charlie was rather too pissed to drive his white Mercedes SL sportscar home.
