That bright future came to pass, of course. A team built, out of financial necessity, of callow youths, which was annually stripped of its brightest stars, continued to finish amongst the country's elite clubs, thereby securing the financial future of the club and laying the groundwork for the success upon whose cusp we stand. Oh, and they came pretty bloody close to winning the league, as well.

Heroes to a man. They should have statues to them outside the stadium.
