Also, match programmes. Who buys them and why?

Even worse are people who hiold a phone up recording the atmosphere so they can upload it to Youtube

Back when they were cheap, they were something to read as you sat on the crumbling concrete steps at half time or - if you were scouse - to roll up and piss into the bloke in front's pocket through.

Back when I used to go, half time always seemed to go on for ages.

People seem to be engrossed in them on the tube back. Scary sit :-(

Coins, stamps, programmes etc.

The phones thing I do not understand at all but the phenomenon is not unique to football, concerts being another one where the practice is rife. It is of course all linked to social media and I am sure Jorge could explain it better than I would attempt to.

Why do people take photos of food in a restaurant? Why do people check into Facebook, or whatever the term is, to say they are visiting such and such a place?

convinced they were worth thousands of pounds. Needless to say they weren't. So I dumped them outside his house, where they got rained on and ruined.

Oh dear, what a pity, never mind. :hehe:

of football on the internet and sports channels.

I'm quite glad some people buy them, even if I don't understand why. After all, someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make them, abd it would be a shame for that to go to waste.

Late 80s, early 90s and then late 90s. Back then it would simply have been as part of the match day as 7 pints.

Genuinely no f**king idea why I still have them considering the number of times I will have moved rented accommodation in that time, and the actual stuff I will have lost in that time that I may have preferred to keep, but they would have been in a box and accordingly been brought along each time.

going to read 'Literature in the Modern World: Critical Essays and Documents' ever again as long as I live. Ditto 'The Collected Works of Alexander Pope' and 'Laxdaela Saga', but I'd feel wrong about throwing it all out.
