Newsnight kept interviewing economists peddling this nonsense in 2008. I'm still waiting, tbh.

It wasn't a full blown Minnesota dentist game hunter type crossbow, you understand, but a quite excellent "toy" one that a teenage me would ahve loved to make in carpentry class.

I haven't had any for years; I'm occasionally tempted but usually just think 'Do I really need to spend 120 quid on an hors d'oeuvre'? I suppose if it really were that good, I would.

I like it very much though. Even the rubbish they give you in Russia. Blinis, caviar, sour cream and ice cold vodka makes for a most pleasant nibble.

cream as it is to do with the caviar. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't like it - just that its financial value is utterly disproportionate to its worth as a foodstuff.

They are expensive because of their rarity and difficultyness of harvestability; they are revered for their deliciousness.

because of its expense. Imagine ordering a portion at the Savoy, for example, on a birthday dinner. Picture the fuss of the silver tray, the little bowls of chopped egg and wotnot, the mother-of-pearl caviar spoon - all adding to the sense of occasion and bringing an air of decadence to the evening.

The spoon, of course, is used only to transport the caviar from the bowl to the hand, whence it is licked.

I reckon I'd probably go to the Coronet for friends/family and alcohol's sake.

That or break the door down of Nigel Slater's house, it's close and well stocked (I assume), and occupy it with Nige as a sort of chef/butler.

I must admit I was puzzled as to why such an expensive ingredient would be accompanied by sweetcorn.

I went to a book signing last year and he look quite disconcerted when I told him I see him Highbury Vintners now and again, this look became genuine terror when I took a selfie with him.

The perfect apocobitch imo.

I watched his whole programme on biscuits and the c**t gave about zero seconds to chocolate digestives and aaaages on "nice" biscuits.

Tempted to come with you to the Coronet tbh

Can I loot a Cotswold store for a tent and a camping stove and a spork? I love looking at all those gadgets.

You're obviously not talking about the dark chocolate ones as obviously they exist on a whole different level of biscuit.

Yes?
