and any chance we will get what we really need ie top quality goalscoring striker, defensive midfielder and centre half ?
We need someone who will score those rare chances in the big games to turn us into Premier league/Champions league serious contenders.
Coquelin had a great half season last year but he is still a few years away from becoming that international class player we need now.
Mertesacker and Koscielny are just too comfortable. They know that neither Gabriel nor Chambers will take their place permanently at this time. We need proper competition for places not just good back-ups.
We have great competition for places in midfield but we need that upfront and at the back as well. We have oodles of money in the bank lets spend it now and turn us from a good squad to a really good squad. The first 2 league games have shown that all the over-excitement of us being the great favourites in preseason is just bullsh*t. However we finished well last year so lets not waste that development of the team by resting on our laurels. All our rivals have strengthened so end of last season form counts for nothing now.
