I f**king love this guy. He's not even leader yet and he's single-handedly destroying any credibility the Labour Party might possibly have with the wider electorate in order to curry favour with the sort of placard-wielding cretins who'll vote him in as leader. Genius.

taking the whole blame for the Iraq war on to the head of the Labour Party - many of whose members of Parliament who voted for the war may not be too happy about being co-opted into such an apology. He is also in the process alienating the United States; telling anyone whose relatives died in the war that they died in an evil cause; reaffirming in the public mind his association with radical islamic groups and generally belittling this nation in the eyes of other nations and the public at large.

Thus, he will embarrass his party, create yet more internal strife between himself and the PLP, embarrass the country, damage his own credibility by playing up his links with Islamic pressure groups and generally alienating large sections of the public.

And all so that he can secure more votes from the membership and make himself leader.

It is, in short, a political move of such awesome stupidity as to defy belief.

Low GDP? Low life expectancy? Not as low as the CAR's. High infant mortality? The CAR's got you beat. Think you're the worst place to live on earth? Close, but no cigar.

I used to live next door to an Eritrean family, nice lot but I couldnt get my nut around the food.

When they were describing their country they used the term "It's a bit like Etheopia, just with more war"

he is doing something that most in politics don't... admitting something was wrong, not automatically blaming "the other party" and standing up for what he believes in. You might disagree wityh him, you might call it political suicide, but I, for 1 actually admire him for admitting what most in this country believe all along. The war in Iraq was a complete and utter cock up from start to finish, and the British public were lied to.

Though your choice of words ("someone had to do it") proves my point. War as therapy. You don't give a damn about the destruction, killing and mayhem. You just feel better because one bad guy got ousted, but somehow lack the understanding to see that the outcome was even worse.
