I mean Joe Allen can't even get in the team at the moment, what a luxury to have.

Not having to pick him I mean.

expectations, they were rather good. I dredged them in seasoned cornflour first to get a nice crisp.

As you know, I've always reviled the sweet potato for not actually being a potato, but these may have changed my mind.

Full of running and all the usual generic midfield attributes but as dull as dishwater. A Selley and Hillier for the modern day.

pour scorn upon Marmite; now you simply 'change your mind'? What are we to make of your opinions in future? Are we to take your contentions seriously, or simply wait a while until the opposite comes along?

I can't say I'm not disappointed, b. Very, very disappointed.

I did them with ribs with brown gloop. All in all, you'd struggle to eat a nicer dinner.

magnanimous and humble fellow that I am able to admit such a change?

In this sense, taste is quite different to important principles. Thus, I may now like sweet potatoes, but I will never vote Labour, support Tottenham or refer to the lavatory as 'the toilet'. These things are written in stone.

I promise you that I'll never like brown sauce, though. It is vile, noisome filth and that, Sir, is my final word on the matter.

I am no great fan of the brown sauce, although I have, on occasion, enjoyed a dab on my sausage.
