Of course that won't happen, but a man can dream.

no Jimmy, his replacement carrying a knock and a batting lineup with a propensity for being blown away :-(

More a guideline of probability, really.

Or at least that was what I read on his Wikipedia entry the day he made his debut for England.

Albeit a while back.
There is nobody with anything like that pace in the county game so we can really decipher whether it was just one ball or not.

It's all quite confusing, B.

Ben.

and he couldn't really do anything, especially new to the crease.
Just making the point that he was worked over by Roach before and because he never comes up against that sort of pace we don't know if he has addressed those issues or not.
For the record I'd have picked him though.

Mind you, I also watched Mark Butcher's dad play and the son has been retired for years now. :-(

It really is rather depressing. :old:

Wait till the third generation come through. I see another D'Oliveira at Worcester and another Cowdrey at Kent - just too young to have seen their grandfathers

Ben.

at least we wouldn't have to worry about him having to duck.
Bairstow was in great nick though.

Ben.

just saying he struggled before with international short pitched bowling and there is no way of knowing if he's much better until he faces it.
I blame Rich tbh, biggest nailed on jinx I've ever seen.

still.

When he goes is there some way to shoehorn Taylor in? Can't we just make Moeen open or something?

I think the fact that he is doing a good job of saving the arse's of the top order at 8 means they are probably reluctant to shift him, he bats really well with the tail.

Ben.

we should get Gubbins in the team quick, before he loses it.

Berni

Very hard job to do and he's been a real thorn in the Aussies' side. He's also very nice to watch. The fact that he's been batting below that hopeless arse Buttler is absurd, though.

can't be the pitches as Lyon looks quite good, Moeen just doesn't look like getting anyone out, unless they get fed up and try and stick him in the pavilion.

Oval.
There was an interesting thing in one article on Lyth saying how this was what he was like when he came into the Yorkshire team - he's reverted to the bad, nervous habits, but he turned it around, sorted out his problems, and became the most prolific opener in the county game. I know it is a step up but it is possible he can do it at the highest level.

Most of the same people calling for him to be dropped were backing him to be picked in May

the 17 year old looks really quite impressive, bowls at 85mph despite looking no older than 11.

Did you pay Bob Willis a royalty for using that?

it is a 50/50 chance EVERY f**king time a coin is flipped.
