View Full Version : Explain cucumber sandwiches to me. They sound really dull. Do they taste it, too? Thanks.

anyway you can't really expect much flavour from a filling which is essentially water in solid form.

crusts removed and very lightly buttered, while the cucumber must be wafer thin, skinned and seasoned with salt and pepper. Classically, they should then be cut into finger length portions.

They won't fill you up, but they are surprisingly moreish.

demanding them and that sparked my interest somewhat. Snin's suggestion is making of mockery of the tradition, I take it? Or are we allowed to take liberty with the format?

really cucumber sandwiches. They're not meant to be some sort of taste explosion, they are supposed to be a comforting, slightly bland, but still toothsome morsel.
