Wojciech Szczesny has announced that he is leaving Arsenal to join Roma on loan for the 2015-16 season. The Poland goalkeeper, who has dropped down to third-choice at the Emirates following the signing of Petr Cech, posted a 'farewell but not goodbye' video on Instagram on Sunday night confirming his decision and will complete the formalities of the move on Monday "Good evening Giallorossi!," the goalkeeper says. "I am very happy, because I am going to Roma tomorrow. I'll see you soon.”
It is understood that Roma will pay Arsenal a basic fee of GBP250,000 for the temporary transfer with more to follow based on appearances and performances.
Szczesny made his Premier League debut for Arsenal in the 2010-11 season, became first choice the following year and has won back-to-back FA Cups in 2014 and 2015.
